New 04 WRX questions.

Hey there! I am interested in a new 04 wrx and was wondering what options are worthwhile getting. I think I might just get a 5 speed with the premium package and buy everything else (gauges, wheels, etc...) aftermarket. Does anyone have any suggestions, or options that they didn't get and then regretted? Also, does anyone have and good pics of their 04' WRX tinted? ... Especially in Java Black Pearl!

Thanks!

i would get the premium package like you. the other things you can do yourself. i like the stock turbo gauge, but i dislike it because it isn't in psi. for me, it is like using centimeters instead of inches. the stock short throw is pretty good from what i heard.

Thanks for the info flyBY. I have a friend who works for Subaru and is able to get alot of the options like gauge packages, short shifters, etc.. for cost. I think I might also be able to swing a deal on a VIP program that will get the car down a good bit in price. My girlfriend just bought an 04 Forester XT on the VIP program and she got a great deal. That car is awesome!

I would definately get the arm rest extension and short shifter.

the factory short throw is nice. There are nice aftermarket options but I prefer the factory one...if something goes wrong I don't have to worry about it.

If you can get them at cost get the guage pack.

If you do not plan to do a complete stereo swap get the upgraded stereo...the base one stinks. My car is under 2 months old and one of my speekers is toast already...same for a friend of mine..hers went in under 4 months.

You definately want the auto lock/upgraded security.....unless you plan on putting a nice aftermarket one...which I may eventually do anyways. The less you have to come in contact with your car with finger nails and keys the better...paint is not friendly with those.

I would also look into getting the manufacturer painted side skirts when you order it....save the time..you'll want them evenually anyways....if they give you grief tell them it's the same part number as the sedan.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the suggestions. I just test drove a blue WRX with the premium package, but the sales guy was a tool. He did not know anything about the car, and took me for a lame test drive in a 25 mph zone! I am going back to the dealership where we bought the Forester XT.... They let you take the cars out by yourself (Even the STI if you sweet talk them) and know their stuff. I did like the moonroof, but I wish it was just a little bit bigger. Maybe I am spoiled since the foresters' moonroof is huge. The deal I was offered was invoice less $500 rebate but I am not going to buy from them.
