I was just out driving my car, and all of the sudden it will no longer let me rev past 4k RPM without hesitation/backfiring. I'm not sure what it is, but it almost feels like you're hitting the rev limiter, only at 4K instead of 7K. There's NO odd noises 0-4K RPM, and it feel normal until I hit that.

I already tried resetting the ECU, and that didn't help...

Tried swapping MAF sensor... didn't help...

It must be in limp mode or something, but there's no CEL, and I have no clue what could be causing it.

My car is modified with everything from Exhaust to Turbo...

I bought a wrecked 03 WRX and it wouldn't start. I had a crank position code which made sence ,but didn't have a crank position problem.

In the process of doing diagnostics, ground and voltage checks, I had my ECM out of the car over nite and then replugged it and my WRX finally started. Damn near had a heart attack.

I just talked to a guy in Dallas that said it may be the Crank position sensor... I'm gonna swap it with my buddies, and see what happens!
