I have seen this car already. On the way to work, Evo hunting as usual I see it up ahead, I pull up behind it and we both exit the entrance ramp.
At the light we both make a right gasing it a little bit, he takes off pretty nice but im still on his butt.
Not a race! so dont delete
I pull next to him at the light and what do I see, a 60+ year old driving the car. I was like WTF.. So im looking over the car and notice the rims look different than the stock 03 Evo VIII So I wave at the guy driving and he rolls down the window. I got to talking to him. Until now I thought he was crazy and just didnt know what he was talking about... His answers..
"No, its a 2004 Evo VIII"
I was like ummmmm ok, when did they release the 2004.
"I Work For AAA and I get payed to test drive these cars"
Sure ya do...
"Its 300 HP"
This he read to me from a sheet of paper that was in the glove Box.
I guess he wasnt so crazy after all. I wish I wrote down the type of rims they were... They were pretty hot and not BBS.
Other than that, No real changes to notice from a regular Evo.
Dont get worried guys, I love this Cold War of HP we are having.. Let Evo get more HP and next year we get more ect ect...
Hell, the 2005 Mustang is going to be 400 HP stock with a whole new body design. WTF! With the cobra coming out in 2006 with 450HP! This will cost us under 35k for over 400HP. Image what the upper end car will be running... ouch! Im seriously thinking about getting one in 2006...
All I got to say is Muscle is back!! We can run 450 HP machines and now pass emisions and have 21 MPG on the HW... hehe..
Let the HP wars begin!!

In an automotive trade magazine I get at work there was is a article about the Tokyo auto show, it mentioned that Mitsubishi is putting the EvoVIII MR on a diet and hopes it will drop 200 lbs. One of the ways this will be accomplished is with an aluminum roof panel, this reduces weight and lowers CG.
