intake = bad, leave the stock airbox. generally, the aftermarket intakes (on wrx's) don't add power and just confuse the ecu. better off spending money on an uppipe/downpipe, engine management, tires, brakes, or suspension. personally, my first "mod" would be tires, depending on what's mounted now. if the stockers (Bridgestone Potenza RE92's) are still on there, definitely ditch them.

Yup! Definitely forget about what you learned from the civic. I had to. Learn about the car before you start modding. It's a totally different world. Good luck, have fun and don't get dead! Oh yeah, welcome!

the car has a good security system and the guy im buying from just put 4 brand new continental tires on. i couldnt really see them cause i saw the car at night but from what i saw they were all season performance tires. i think the first thing i wanna do is suspendion upgrades. i never had the chande to do anything major on my civic so i want to on the wrx. whats a good suspension setup for daily driving but something you can take to the track on the weekends?

I am using eibach springs with stock struts on an 03. Change the rear sway bar. It makes a lot of difference. In regards to the struts, check it if it can still handle lowering. If not, maybe think about the KYB AGX.

general rule of thumb for lowering: if you're going more than 1.5" you'll need to upgrade struts

it's really a matter of personal preference, as long as you understand that you will need to replace the struts if you own the car long enough (regardless of whether or not it's lowered), and do a visual inspection from time to time, you'll be fine. service life will obviously depend on your driving style, how many miles you put on in a year, and local road conditions.

That would also include how much money you have. If you use to modify BMW's like relentless_STi, you would normally have enough money to mod the suspension properly. If you are poor like me, you would only be able to do the springs

yea im not goin to have 2 much money at all for the next couple months. i know on the civic, if lowered it your shocks would be shot in about 5 to 10 thousand miles. the prodrive springs say theyre mad to match the stock dampers or thats what i got from a site i didnt really read to carefully. id like to lower it around and inch to and inch and a half and put a rear sway bar on it. then get either the greddy evo2 or perrin twin tip. i like the greddy i had one on my civic.
