The TR is perfect for people who will eventually switch out all those things. Why pay $1,000 for something that you'll switch out?

If you're satisfied with the equipment that Subaru gives you, however, then spend the $1,000 for them by buying the next trim. This is what makes the options in trim models great -- there's a car for everyone.

I will eventually switch out the radio for an after-market radio that *I* prefer in my car. I never use fog lights in any car I had, and I will install a body kit (when one that I like becomes available), which will subsequently delete the fog lights anyway. The TR seats will be switched out for lighter Sparco seats. I didn't want a sun roof because it adds weight to the top of the car, it's one more thing to break, and I didn't use it much in my previous cars. Side mirrors will be switched out for more aerodynamic ones (forget the color, it's the shape that matters to me). And automatic climate control? I prefer to turn a **** to set the atmosphere, like I've done for a dozen years with no inconvinience. And, I've saved a grand to throw toward the moddings that I would do, no matter what trim I purchased.

The TR was a good decision for Subaru to release. It was a good choice for someone like me.

Good stuff...if I were to pick up an '06 it would be a TR (unless I grab an FXT...but that's another issue).

1. It deletes the fog lights which I feel look weird on the new WRX....looks much better with the streamlined cover.
2. Why waste money on a crappy factory stereo? I already have an Alpine deck and can just swap it and add some quality speakers.
3. It still comes with the 2.5l and the 4 pots as well as all the other '06 improvements!

It really is a good deal, IMO. You also get the quicker ratio steering, something that is sorely lacking in the earlier WRXs.

^^^Yep and I forgot to mention the improved transmission which is pretty huge.
