I'm new to i-Club
Hey everyone,
I'm new here and I just want to say that this is a great site.
I was thinking of getting a Subaru, but I want to get some background info first. I was looking at a '98 Impreza 2.5 RS. Are they good cars? What's the pickup on them like? I know they handle really well, but are they pretty quick?
I haven't got a chance to drive yet, but I will. Are there lots of mods for them?
How's the maintenance on them?
Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Intake, exhaust, and short-shifter should get you into the mid 15's in thw 1/4, and mid 7's 0-60. The DOHC EJ25 in the 98's sem to have a head gasket problem, and also piston slap from the short piston skirts. But they are still good cars, and there is a decent aftermarket for them. But there is a little more aftermarket for the 00-01 RS's with the Phase II engine, which also seems to be a little more reliable than the Phase I found in the 98's and some 99's. Maintence is is pretty normal on Subaru's, the parts aren't too expensive, and are easy to find. I guess changine sparkplugs is kind of a pain, because of the boxer design, but I've never actually tried doing it myself. Oh,and welcome to the club! And check out www.rs25.com for more info on the 2.5RS.
