I am a idiot......
I did it again.
Before I start I want to take a second to say, YES I DID SOMETHING DUMB. It involved my car, going to fast. If you have kids and worry about them getting hit by idiots like don’t read. I am not here to **** anyone off just share my experience. YES THIS WAS RETARDED AND YES I SHOULDNT HAVE GONE THIS FAST. I LOST ALLOT OF SELF RESPECT DURING ALL THIS.
Last night at around 12:30 am I left my girlfriends house in Zion Illinois and made my way towards route 41 towards my apartment in Chicago. I was taking it easy listening to my Cash, Zeppelin, and Judas Priest mix cd. Good times but I was getting bored, so about the time 41 merges with 94 I took it up a notch. To about 100 mph. Not fast enough on the next open straight I decided to kick it up. I maxed out my car while doing this a car which looked like a Camaro at the time rode up on me real good I figured he was looking for a race. Something I wasn’t interested in doing through these turns, but after a few seconds at 135 or so he backed off. He went out of sight and I lowered my cruising speed down to about 120, until that same car came back up on me again but this time his lights were flashing. My first immediate thought were to run. I made a short valiant effort ending in failure. I pulled abit for a good 1/2 mile up to my max speed but he was still in my rear view mirror he was just a good 300 feet back.
The fight as short as it was (about 10 seconds) was over. All the exits I passed had squad cars blocking them it was time to quit. He really only had his lights on for something like 15 seconds so its not like there was some long elaborate chase.
I pulled over he said that he wanted the keys and that he would be a few minutes. He left with the keys and I had no way of rolling up my window. About 40 minutes later he returned. I had been sitting in the cold, and by this time my body is shaking uncontrollably.
He apologized and said your car has to be towed, and that instead of arresting me he will bring me to this all night diner where my roommate can pick me up and we can pick up my car. Apparently my license is gone. He was a nice guy gave me a ticked for Reckless driving at over 40mph and then wrote on the ticket 120mph. He didn’t arrest me though. Said I didn’t have a license and took me to a diner on Foster/Milwaukee ave. I was told to wait here until I can get a ride. My roommates were already on there way.
They arrived we found the towing address and headed out to Oakton and Lehigh. We arrived to find something very interesting.
The flat bed truck was tilted up and my car was in the garage.
THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS MESSED. I of course asked the tow guy what happened and he said.
IT FELL OF THE TRAILER.
YES IT FELL OF THE TRAILER.
I was so startled I had a hard time asking specifics so I am unsure weather that means that it was being held up by the front and it fell of, or weather it was on the flat bed itself and fell of. I have no idea which one but from what I could tell the damage sustained was to the front of the car. As soon as my roommate gets of class were going to drive out there.
The tickets aside (a lawyer will help me there)
I NEED ADVICE.
The car because it was dropped I assume has lots of unseen damage. The shocks couldn’t survive a 3 foot fall, and the chassis must be tweaked abit. What should I do I am heading there for pictures. I almost forgot to mention, this guys towing company also does auto body. He is saying that he will take care of it all for me. I said no of course.
If the car was dropped from being held in the front, then the front was just stressed and it isn’t too bad.
But if it actually fell off the flat bed which it could have been seeing as the flat bed was tilted down for the car to roll of when we showed up.
I don’t know what to say other than sorry to the people who were on the road.

I went to the shop which towed my car. I inspected there facility and it looks as though my car is going to be repaired by them. As for the car here are the pics.<p>The car was towed a few hundred feet by the front wheels. They are paying for the car to be inspected by Subaru. The differential the front suspension the chasis, the engine ect.... Subaru will call me and I will then let them know what they will replace at the expense of the towing company. <p>The towing company is being helpfull they just dont want me to totall the car. If there is any chassis damage I will almost definetly fight for it to get totalled.<p>It doesnt look like it though.<p>Worst case the diff needs to be replaced, and the front suspension needs work. LOL, sorry about your car, it fell off the tow truck...i think they were envious of your rex, the cops that is, that you could annihilate their squad cars...hey i wonder if you got on that tv show "police chases..." be dope seeing a rex outrun the polar bears...hahahha...you should have asked him to write down how fast you were "really" going lol..

It sounds like I ran but, it was more or less 10 seconds at the most of me figuring out what to do. The cop NEVER got the impression I was runing. So take his word over mine. I didnt get a ticket for anything like that.

the only thing that would concern me about the car repair is to have the same shop that could'nt keep your car on a tow truck doing the repair. It seems to me that they have some incentive to do a shoddy job on your car (IE: save money) so I would take my car to another body shop and have a different company tow it there.
