How to tell a TR from regular WRX....

Alright, I couldnt find a definitive answer through searching, so I'll ask. I rencently purchased an 06 WRX. I bought it used from a dealer, and when I asked if it was a TR or regular, the salesguy had no idea what I was talking about.

I've read online the differences (climate control, seats, black interior door handles, etc), and my car seems to be a TR based on those. However, all my paperwork and insurance and such just says WRX. I guess what I'm really trying to get at is, is there a difference between the two as far as registration and insurance? I dont wanna be paying for a regular if there is a difference. I'm assuming there is none, but I just want to clarify.

For registration and insurance, there shouldn't be a difference. The easiest way to find out if your car is a TR is 1) the side mirrors are not painted, and 2) the cd player only plays one cd, not a 6disc changer. thats all i can think of off the top of my head though.

yeah, I read a list and my car seems to be a TR. I have the black side-mirrors, the single disc player (which was quickly replaced with an Alpine ), no climate control, the same seats as the 2.5i, and I dont know what else.

Glad to know theres know difference as far as paper-work though, that was my main concern.

2 piece front seats (seat & headrest) ~ not 'race style' high back seats.
