How much boost

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and I am planning on getting a WRX around August-november time depending how long it takes me to get my down payment money 2gether. I was wondering how much boost does the turbo run stock and what is a decent amount that would not blow up the engine if I raised the boost a little????

It runs 13.5 stock. I don't know how much the engine can handle.

that is debatable, but lets go with the hightest figure for 1 bar= 14.7 psi...

Set a boost controller at 15.5 psi, this allows any boost spiking to not really tend to clear the 16psi marker...

16 can be too much. I've seen someone blow a motor on 16psi. we think it spiked to like 17, hot air, pinged, whamo...
