Does anyone know of a company that sells Subaru parts that are available in Japan but not from dealers here in the U.S.?
These parts are commonly referred to as JDM, or Japanese Domestic Market parts. Going to i-Club's Search page, I plugged in the following keywords:

JDM + parts

The Search feature can be a useful tool for finding information on i-Club.

Be prepared to pay an arm and a leg unless the yen is particularly weak against the dollar at your time of ordering.

About getting parts from friends that live in Japan...how expensive do you think it would be for the shipping if he sent it over to me? I kinda wanted to ask him to send some HID headlights over to CA.

If you didn't already know this, try to be sure that the HID setup is for left-hand drive vehicles. Some folks have tried to convert RHD to LHD but it's hardly worth the trouble if you can get the correct ones to begin with.
