Hello, Just wanted to say thanks for haveing an Suby site. Not too many understand what a subaru really means to us owners! I just saved my parents 95 Impreza L 4-door 2.2 auto, from a Trade-in. This was their sixth Suby! We lost many to rust. Some to trade-ins. But our highest milage was 392,000 from our 84 Gl wagon. She died doing what she did best "going to wal-mart to get some Bread and milk". But she died on the way when a careless Tempo crossed the center line and hit head-on off center to the driver's side. The state police said the only reason my mother lived was because it was 4WD and the motor/tranny/Drive shaft absorbed the impact. If it was a front-wheel drive or a compact she most likely would of been badly hurt. But on a brighter side I was hopeing to get more #'s out of this one! So far 150,000 but at the same time I want to make the suby stand out a lil bit too! The car is in perfect cond. Every lil flyier that went out about service the car went in. Oil was done every 3k. Honostly except for a minior rattle from the Heat shield it still runs like it did in 95! Oh yeah the reason Im makeing such a big deal is in the 8 years that my mom owned it, Its never been past 3800 rpm. NEVER. This car is a lil different than im used to. Where is the best place to start? Aint like a honda. Also I bought ths car for 2000.00 im not a punk with a hand-me down honda want fun but nothing fast & the ferious stuff. Ok, Turbo sounds interesting! I got a little bit of cash to blow..Let's just say around 1500, now what turbo will work? I know our XT was turbo'd but it's the 6 banger 3.0 I belive. Never seen a 2.2 turbo. The lines the I was thinking was to swap the Auto for a five speed. Im not sure if anything for the AWD needs re-fitted or not? My Isuzu Impulse was a mess to make AWD! Yes Isuzu impulse "Storm look a like" offered Awd but the mechanicals were diffrent betweem the auto, 5- speed. The drive shaft was 6" shorter in the auto and the 5-speed had diffrent electronics. So i never messed with it. But this is a suby and im lil new to building them up! Also how is the new turbo's Our 87 XT and 86 Gl Wagon Had terriable head problems caused by the turbo blow-off valve sticking. " leaned the mix and melted valves. $$$$ would a 2.5 turbo mount to a 2.2? Im a machinist I could make it "POSSABLE" to mount but If my compression is off BOOM! And If the electronics dont interchange forget it LOL!

mate i am not sure about the american market but for a 2.2 you would want a vf 22 or bigger.
