From a GTI to a WRX..maybe?
I am thinking about getting a WRX in July, provided I can find a job after I graduate college. I currently own a '02 GTI, but I'm not entirely happy with its driveability. Luckily, I am in a decent spot with it, financially, so a different car in July should be feasible. But, I was wondering if you all might have some issues with any of your WRXs? Certain problems that are prevalent with these cars? For me it's the darn window regulators and squeek/rattlefest.
I never really got a good look at the WRX's performance until my friend bought his (dealerships around here limit test drives to below 3500 RPMs). I have to say I am extremely impressed. On the slick roads after the rain, my friend can administer full acceleration and the car grips and rockets forward. In my car, I have to baby the accelerator or the tires break traction. The ONLY thing I would miss about my GTI would be the interior. I'm sorry, but it's feels much more solid than that of the WRX. Any thoughts about this possible purchase?
Thanks

Tough decision.
I made the decision to trade in my '99 GTI for a WRX. The WRX is definately a lot more fun, however I do feel that my GTI was a little more sturdy as far as craftsmanship is concerned. My car payment was definately a lot higher and my insurance has been raised and is killing me. I have owned 4 cars before my WRX and never had a car accident. I have been in 3 accidents since I purchased it and am on my second clutch. I still feel I made the right decision. Try not to let that feeling of invincibility go to your head when you do get it, and always wear your seatbelt.
