Ok anybody else had this one? 03 sedan with 3300 miles on it groans like my old '72 Chevelle did when i hit a dip at 50mph. First it was only at low speed, now i'm hearing it all the time. I hate it when my car says my name, reeeck. Dealer says "Subaru is working on it." any ideas?

Do any of you rexers slow down like crazy for speedbumps like just about everyone on the planet does?

One of my gf's says that her car and many others have to slow down for the humps b/c they'll hit the muffler, even trash it. But no car I've ever owned had to slow down, and besides it seems like EVERYONE slows down to a near-stop for these things. Even in SUVs.

I usually zip over these things at 20 mph, no prob. Never hits anything, and my alignment remains fine, etc.

 

But I'm hearing it at each and stop sign also, not to mention pulling into the driveway at home. at 3330 miles I expect to hear nothing but that beautiful 16 valve symphony.

 

Hmmm... I had that issue with my GC8 L sedan. Eventually discovered it was caused by the stuts causing slight compression/expansion of my strut towers. Tightened things up and no more issues.

Just a thought.

 

got a call from the dealer on a saturday no less, they're ordering strut towers, subaru factory rep thinks that's what's causing it. Apparently there's another rex with the same problem floating around town. I'll post after the work is done.

 

I used to go kinda fast over speed bumps, but now i cant or ill f*uck my muffler up.

 

My car has just over 30K miles on it. Never made any groaning/creaking sounds at all, no matter what I drove over. Then just a few days ago I had my dealer do a 30K mile service on the car. On the way home from the dealer I noticed that it was making these sounds, especially when going over something at an angle, like when pulling into a driveway with a raised lip.
It drives me crazy. What could the dealer have done to cause this, or is it just a coincidence?
