Goodbye (sorta long)
I wasn't much of a poster here, but I definitely read up a decent amount and learned a bunch of things from you all.
My 05 STI was stolen last week, and while the 14-month ride was great (bought the car in January '05 from Maita in Sacramento), I have moved on. Some a$$hole jacked her from me, but my memories are fond and I will never forget the STI. I was planning on keeping the thing for a while and the ride was cherry when it disappeared from my very own driveway.
I test-drove an M3 on Sunday and I'll be buying it shortly. It doesn't ride as stiff as the STI and comparatively it feels like I'm in a Cadillac. BUT, based on my online research, it's supposed to be pulling the same (or better) lateral G's. I'll look forward to being able to drift and fully enjoying an 8k redline. The car doesn't feel like it's pulling as much as the STI does, but I think my butt dyno may be "off" because the STI pulls so much, but a lot of time is wasted shifting because the car goes through the gears so quickly. At any rate, the mags and such all so the two to be pretty much even on handling and acceleration. It's just the driving experience that feels so different. To go off on a tangent, I'd guess that if Subaru put an SMG into the STI, it'd probably be around 4 seconds in 0-60 and CRAZY fast on the 1/4 mile. Something to chew on...
I'll be leaving i-club, but thanks to those who are knowledgeable and helpful to those automobile-impaired people like myself.

Too bad someone jacked your sti but , M-3 is pretty quick with a softer ride . I was going to buy one also but , decided to wait for the new skylines . Hopefully , it won't go over $70,000 . Enjoy your new ride !

Damn, Chihiro what the hell happened? I do not know about an M3, but good luck with it. I will have to ring you up next time I am in LA. I guess we can see what will be faster M3 or 06 STI. Anyways, sorry to hear about that and I hope everything works out.
