going from Accord to the WRX or STi (question from my friend)

Yeah, driving my dads 911's around makes me nervous sometimes. Not so much the power (that too though), but the fact that I'm sitting in 70-90k (depending if its the Carerra or Cabriolet I'm driving) of car.
Funny thing is, rich-*** **** though he is, he NEVER gives me any money at all. Meanwhile, my mom (they're divorced) gave me her Camry to drive.

Car Info: 04 wrx WRBlue ~v34 sold/ 05evo MR ^_^
Yes, it would be enough power (for 3 month) I can from the same route. I had a 2000 accord (still do) to a wrx. STi is kinda nuts if he never drove a 200 hp car. ask him to test drive the WRX before the STi. But hey, if i had the $$$$ i would go for the STi

is he considering that the insurance costs of a STi are WAAAAAY higher than WRX? The pricetag on a STi is steep, the insurance is worse. If he can actually afford this then HELL yes, go for the STi!!! If not, know that I have a WRX slightly modified and I absolutely LOVE it to death!

Numbr, see above, 1590 for WRX, 1700 for STi per 6 months. Not a significant concern for me (considering the numbers we're already talking about per month in gas and insurance, another 20 bucks isnt anything serious, and the car will be paid (mostly) cash either way), and since he is on State Farm too, neither is it for him.
Here's another good question while y'all are being helpful. I learned to drive standard in my dad's Carerra (harder than it had to be, but I managed). No one of his relatives, family, or family friends have manual cars. Any ideas on how he can learn to drive stick? I havent heard of any places that rent standard cars, and my dad said no one else is beating up the clutch in either of his Porsches.

Man, this friend of yours is annoying. He wants an STI and he can't drive a stick? C'mon. That's crazy. I have some good advice for him. Trade that honda in for a 2.5 rs manual. Learn how to drive. Then get an STi. I know this sound a little harsh. It's just common sense.

ROFL. No, but seriously, I laughed at that first sentence for a good 2 minutes. How do you think I feel, posting all this for him? In any case, he doesnt have enough cash to do that, like I said before, and STi would be a stretch for him but if it was worth it he would probably do it I think.

if your friend is serious aout this, and can afford it (and drive manual), get the wrx. make payments and pay the insurance. it's not that bad, especially if he has money. The power it puts out is a good platform to start out, esp. from an accord. He needs to get it manual though. Automatic sti's are sad....

Save the money and get an STi unless he wants a wagon. As far as learning have you drive it off he lot when he buys and then get to some safe place and tell him "have at it" it should only take a day for someone to pick it up. The STi is stout enough to handle a few misshaps in the shifting department. In a week he'll be smooth as can be.
