With gas prices raising as fast as they are, I was wondering what would happen if I put mid-grade gas intead of premium into my 2002 WRX? I know the manual says high-octane...but at these prices, it's getting outragous. Does anyone think this would be a problem?

You could try.....
putting a small amount in and see if the car shows signs of knocking or "pinging". I ran regular gas in an Audi 1.8T for the longest time and it never had a problem.
