Future Subaru owner checking in

Hey gang, just wanted to drop a line and say hello to everyone. I do not own a Subaru as of yet but I am trying my best to convince my wife this is what I really need, lol.

I have been collecting Subaru reading material about the past month and have set my sights on a used STi. I could start off with a WRX but I like all the features the STi has to begin with. My passion has been diesel trucks as I own a 2000 Dodge Ram dually with a modified Cummins engine pushing around 450hp and 850 ft lbs of torque. But since I'm getting older and more enviromentally friendly its about time for a change.

I was really surprised at the tremendous aftermarket support the WRX has and that is really a big pushing point for me.

Anyway hope to have a chance to speak with you all soon.

Yeah, I can pull a house down if I'd like. Mine is just a modest build, I have more than one counterpart who are pushing over 1000 ft lbs and thats still daily driven and running 11's down the strip. These diesels can take alot of punishment before anything would go wrong with one.

Thanks for the welcome, I'll change the subject back to what this forum is for, lol.

The STI is quite the little grocery getter. As for the wife, it's got 4 doors, little pink writing on it, and gold wheels. What's not to like about it?

Lol. The STi is the perfect compromise between versatility and super-car like performance at an affordable price. It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.

No, its not for her at all. It would be my play car. I just need her finacial blessings. She has, (or if you ask her, its we have) a Hemi Durango and a '07 Nissan Versa for her commuter car. I'll still need a truck but nothing like what I have presently. I'm thinking of selling the diesel and going from there.

I can live with the pink STi lettering but the gold wheels have to go though.
