Flood an engine w/out trying = xpensive
Some how I flooded my 02 WRX by firing it up and backing into another spot then turning the car off. Next time I tried to start it, it was sounding sick. I thought it was a bigger problem, so had it towed to Burlington Subaru. They tagged me for a $190 15k check up (ok, fine) then recommended an engine flush, injector flush and oil change to get rid of the fuel in the gas. $360 later, I'm over the flood. So is it gonna cost me all that (minus the 15k check up) for each time I flood the car? And how the heck did it flood in the first place? I know I can dry out the plugs myself, but they we're still wet 2 days later. Any other similar experiences?

If there's one thing I hate, it's getting fuel in my gas. Cheese whiz it pisses me off! Did the dealership also charge you to top off the halogen fluid in your headlights? And how the hell do you flood a fuel injected car?
Next time just get it started and give it an "Italian tune-up"...

on a good -20 degree day then I could see a problem...
what mods do you have?
On my old junk cars when they develope a misfire in one cylinder from fouling I would go out & drive them hot & hard... I wouldn't do that on a newer car if it was a continous misfire... At some point you will get a CEL... If this becomes a problem you have a problem.
If it seems a little off the ECU may have been reset & you need to teach it some lessons. If it is fouling plugs they may be a step too cold BUT if they are factory you shouldn't have any problems...
I personally wouldn't have paid for their problem if the car is stock.
Get her good & hot... It should clear up...

if i let go of the key before my car starts... then i try to start it again. it starts... then RPM goes from 2.5k warmup to dead. so i start it up again and it's fine. That happened the first couple of times i did that. After that if i don't catch the first crank attempt... i just give the throttle a nudge when it thinks it's going to die on the second attempt... and it doesn't.

Hey! I'm Italian
I've met lots of wonderful Italian people. Now Canadians, with their beady little eyes and flapping heads, they scare me!
JUST KIDDING!
