I'm 18 and right now i drive a '93 bmw 318iS. I was looking into buying a 1999 Impreza RS (got my eyes on this one). I was wondering without engine swapping a new powerplant in..will it put down some decent numbers without costing too much dough? If it's currently at 165hp howmuch more could i expect with about 2 grand in engine mods? I was thinking some minor breathing mods/exhuast. And then maybe 3 grand in suspenion/tires/wheels. (I'm an avid autocrosser)...Howmuch would it take to get me around 200 to 250 hp?

 

Im not sure about the EJ25 engine that is in the GC8 but you may want to post another topic like this in the "NON-Turbo" forum area to get a better response. If you check out the "Non-Turbo" section you may find all the info you need.

Also do you want to just go N/A or do you want to add a turbo? Check out the Suspension area for any questions on Suspensions.

If you lower the car and add a front lip it would look very nice.

Hmm...some more questions..:
- The 99 i posted is *not* turbo??!
- i thought the impreza rs comes turbo stock?
- so if it's n/a i should look into turbo-ing it? Howmuch $ are we looking at?
- what are some decent hp numbers i could put down keeping it n/a?
- wrxwagon2b you mentioned a front lip add on? I'm very familiar with many aftermarket lips for bmw's but where could i find some online for the impreza..pretty much the only aftermarket bodykit i know for the impreza at the moment is the one on erebuni.com...mojority of which are too overdone.
- also last question for the moment, does a 'functional' roof scoop actually serve a purpose?
