Dynojets are about average, Dynopaks read quite a bit higher. FWIW, the average stock WRX makes about 175 AWHP on this particular dyno. I currently hold the record for the highest dynoing stock WRX at this shop. It may also be of note that mine is the only 04 WRX dynoed there so far.

Dynojets are "average" but they are not correct. At any rate, the discrepencies between individual dynos, not to mention between brands, makes it difficult to compare numbers in all but the roughest terms. The only time you can directly compare two cars is if they were both tested at about the same time on the sme dyno. Congratulations on having a factory sleeper.

Hey, I have a question. I know that the Impreza RS comes with 165 hp stock, but does it being AWD slow it down? I've read that AWD cars are usually a bit more sluggish than 2WD cars. I've been looking at the Civic EX and Impreza RS and I know the RS has 35 more hp, but does the AWD slow it down? Thanks.

Wow! Talk about a thread being taken to a whole other level. Your feedback is great, thanks. I just wanted to know a 99' RS figures for torque and hp. And about the whole awd slows you down bit; why not disable your awd? The car maker made it possible. Would that help the torque and hp figures any?

The AWD can only be disabled in automatic cars, iirc. But, most people don't buy a Subaru and disable the AWD. The AWD is one of the main reasons I wanted my Subaru, and to disable it seems a bit wierd. But thats just my opinion.
AWD rules the twisties and the snow.
