Dynojets are "average" but they are not correct. At any rate, the discrepencies between individual dynos, not to mention between brands, makes it difficult to compare numbers in all but the roughest terms. The only time you can directly compare two cars is if they were both tested at about the same time on the sme dyno. Congratulations on having a factory sleeper.

is everyone just concerned about hp ? there doesn't seem to be much talk over torque.

Good point. I've explained that to people many times. It's the reason a 300 hp STi is much faster than a 300 hp WRX.

The added weight is what slows an AWD car down. The extra components weigh 200-300 lbs.

Not just the extra weight, but there is also drivetrain loss from more differentials and wheels to turn.

That said, an Impreza RS will be faster then a EX from any year.

Actually, it's the extra friction in the drivetrain that does most of the reduction. AWD cars typically lose ~25% of engine power, with 10-15 for 2WD cars.

Wow! Talk about a thread being taken to a whole other level. Your feedback is great, thanks. I just wanted to know a 99' RS figures for torque and hp. And about the whole awd slows you down bit; why not disable your awd? The car maker made it possible. Would that help the torque and hp figures any?

The AWD can only be disabled in automatic cars, iirc. But, most people don't buy a Subaru and disable the AWD. The AWD is one of the main reasons I wanted my Subaru, and to disable it seems a bit wierd. But thats just my opinion.

AWD rules the twisties and the snow.

Also, you aren't supposed to disable the AWD except for emergencies.

Well Cobb uses a Mustang Dyno, and their stock rexs dyno at about 170. Are you saying that theirs is not properly calibrated?

They do not use the "factory" calibrations, correct.
