engine swap
i wasnt quite sure were to post this so i will try it here. i have a 99 2.5rs i was just wondering what the possibiltys are for swaping a sti engine from japan. assuming there was a sti in japan in 99. money is really not an object for me i have a rich grandma and he is about to kick the bucket and leave me alot of money on accont i am her only grandchild that goes to visit her. i am expecting like 25k from her. i know everyone is going to say put it down on a realy sti but i would rather have low insurance and no car payments. if its not possible then i will just sell my 2.5 and buy the sti.

Its possible. Its a little more complicated than swaping in a USDM WRX engine though, which alot of folks have done with their RS's. For $25k, you could probably get a USDM STI engine and still have a bit money left over 
I have seen some folks here on the forum selling some nice JDM engines though...
