catless or downpipe with cat in CA? (was: Smog Question)

So I have an 08 wrx and im thinking about what kind of down pipe to get. So here is my question if I get a CATLESS will it pass smog? I plan on getting a CATTED Catback. Or is that a bad idea? haha HELP! ok thanx.

get what you want, keep your stockers....swap back when smog time comes...which I forget how long it is for a new car...
but of course be warned, louder the exhaust, the more police attention and possible ref tickets you risk...

neither catted nor catless will pass smog, so as RedStage said, keep your stock stuff. I think Santa Clara county theres no 6 year grace period, but a resident of there will have to chime in on that one. If theres no 6 year grace period, you have 2 years until you need to smog

yup exactly what VRT said, neither will pass...but if louder sound/slightly better performance is what you're looking for, go with catless..just beware of cops while drivin
