Bumper Removal for a For Bulb Change?

I just spent a while under my car trying to figure a way out to get my lamps out so I could take out the bulbs in my 04 Wagon. The only way I could figure it out would be to take off the bumper.

Here are my questions in regards to an 04.

1) How do you remove the bumper.
2) Is it TRULY necessary to remove the bumper to get access to the bulbs?

Thanks all,
Chris

I will no doubt take you up on that offer.

It seemed all my maintenance on my civic, even my clutch change seemed more simplistic than Subaru makes their cars.

Thanks for you present and no doubt future help.

This is for the 2004 model. I looked in the book and turned to the Fog Light bulb replacement section. It said something along the lines of, this can be a complicated procedure, take your car to your local Subaru dealer for bulb replacement.

You can get to the bulbs from the wheel well, turn your wheel all the way away to get more room. The passenger side is tough unless you've removed your airbox.
