better? evo or WRX
hey guys lookin to trade in my 2002 spec v for either a evo or wrx. Now i know evo makes a bit more power stock but we know the capabilities of the ej20. Anyway considering reliability, handling, and power making and modding, which car would you choose and why, a evo or wrx, let me know guys, and no i cant afford a sti....

Well, Mitsubishis dont retain their value worth **** (which I learned the hard way). My Lancer, and the EVO are very reliable. I've never driven an evo, so I cant comment on handling. I don't really like the interior of the EVO, it's almost identicle to my car. I'd say get the WRX, and drop a couple g's worth of mods in there, with the money you'd saved
I'm not entirely sure on how strong the evo transmission is, but if you find out that it is pretty beefy... go with it. Otherwise, I say drop the money you save into the wrx. One thing to remember when thinking about buying though, is how crap ugly the evo is
. Too bad we never got the evo 5 and 6.

ive driven both
the wrx is a mule in comparison.
if u do plan on juicin' up your wrx, be prepared to drop some g's into a new tranny.
if u can afford an evo, u can afford an sti..
carlsen subaru is selling sti's for $700 under invoice, which is about the same as the evo (with the dealer markup)

Evo and WRX? I would go for EVO for the reason that you're not considering an STI (right?). I have driven the EVO and the handling is pretty impressive. Suspension is handling the car pretty well and the power is just about right. But like BUdlong said, adding extra cash is the best bet and go for the STi which i have driven and compared both cars. But if you're deciding between the EVO and impreza, go for the Evo. (less hassle and worry about modding stuff and voiding your warranty).
If you have the money, and are willing to float the payment, get the EVO. The only thing thart sucks is that the EVO will have terrible resale value, and it is still a Mitsubishi. I have been up and down on this subject in my own mind for months.
I have decided to go with the WRX. Simply becuase the WRX is fast from the get go, but can be upgraded very easily and fairly cheaply. And also, becuase I don't want a big payment every month. I would rather use that money for modifying my WRX.

hmmm.
If you have any intention of getting some practicality out of your ride, I'd go with the WRX wagon. It's all about getiing stuff into your car and still have something fun to drive.

get a Audi A4 1.8t dammit!! you get a used one for cheap drop a few g's and it'll be nice as hell and drive like hell!! lol. sorry for the random post, just thought i could spice things up here a bit.
the only way you'll know you want the car is to go and be ready to buy one of them, go to the dealer and have a mind set that your gonna buy the car. if you feel any remorse then go for the other car. its a very painful process that i just came up with and it may work. if not get back on the board and ask away your questions. the way I see it, if your looking for a fast car form the get-go, go with the EVO, if you got some unforbidden love for Subaru's go with the WRX and you'll never regret it.
