Well, your suspension will be as good as gone after a few races, but after you get toasted by slower cars with better suspension, you'll be wanting to upgrade anyway...
Also, your clutch and engine take a serious pounding everytime you race. If you don't have the money to fix broken parts, then I don't suggest you race.

hmmm, i don't agree with what you say
i have been auto-xing my wrx for a year now. the only thing that has worn or needed replacement are the tires
my suspension (stock) is still fine. if a stock suspension cannot handle auto-xing, then the car sucks and does not belong on the road
clutch is still in great condition and i have aver 34000 miles on my car now.
its all how you treat your car when you are auto-xing. i have never broken anything and i know lots of other people who have not as well.

Yeah, just follow the "heavy-duty" guidelines from the factory maintenance schedule. Gear oil, diff oil, coolant, clutch fluid, and brake fluid are often overlooked.
if your on stock tires like i was, they dont have enough grip to hurt anything. the only thing your gonna hurt (maybe) is your front bumper from understearing into cones. its better to learn the cars limits in a parking lot then on the street
have fun!
p.s. ppl with stock re92's are about 3-4 seconds slower than ppl with some good racing rubber. in d-stock that is.
