I used to have an '02 WRX and I really liked the bug-eyes, apparently I was in the minority as they chose to get rid of them.

Since then I've not been a fan of the changes they've made to the front end of the WRX. Whenever I see an '02 on the road I get kind of excited and can't help but think that they look better than the current version.

I need a new a car and I miss the WRX, but as strange as this may sound, I can't seem to get buy the new front end. I read that a redesign is in the works. Even if they don't bring back the bugs (I doubt they will) I hope they scrap the current design altogether and come up with something new.

 

They might in some years to follow. The bug eye design is only what... 4 or 5 years old.

Take a look at Chevy who made the new Camaro concept. ( 40 years later)
If Subaru did come out with a new "retro" bug eye I would be first in line.

 

Just as soon as they bring back the GC body.

You want a bugeye, best go buy one now cause they're not coming back anytime soon, if at all.

just get the new 06 with the 2.5l wrx. Swap the front end with a bugeye owner. =D

You will get bigger stock brakes, bigger rims, bigger engine, and a newer car!

Something tells me "No", the 02-03 has it's fallowing, I'm one, but it's not big enough for the company to justify the cost of the sales it lacked. 04-05 sold more (partly due to the STi being state side)

As long as the chassis stays the same, you can always make one. Get an 06-07, take it to the body shop and have them make it a bug-eye 02 for you. But please if you do so, score some Prodrive or EDM lights.
