So are you looking at the hinson supercars route. I have to admit those LS1 RX7's look mighty tasty. It will be a hard decision, but the subaru and RX7 are entirely different cars. try test driving both, alteast that will give you some kind of an idea about what the final product will be like.
Something to keep in mind, the RX7 will be harder to control due to the fact that you are dropping in a torque happy LS1, and will only have "small" tires (265's I think) in the back.
If you want some nice rear fenders flares for the Rx7, go to

You can make a replica of the 22B from any year impreza til 2002 when the new body style came out. All parts are interchangable!!
But you do know that the 22B came with a 350hp 2.2 ltr not a 2.5 right?
If you use a 2.5 might as well call it a 25B..

It was not 350hp. It was 280 just like everything else to come from Japan. The editors that claimed 350hp were estimating and wrong.
And yeah, I know it was a 2.2 not a 2.5. I figure making 300ish hp on a 2.5 will be easier than a 2.2. Sides, no need to give up some displacement

YOU DON'T
Hmmm.... Decisions decisions.... Do I want a Ferrari killing V8 RX7 and a cheap fun motorcycle or a dominating car killing motorcycle with a AWD grip monster good for all weather conditions.
I need more information about that 6 Speed and how it fits in the 2000 Impreza before I go any further. Know anyone specifically that's done the swap?

Car Info: 1999 Impreza 2.5 RS - MTS
Here are some of the features and components that make the 22B such a special car:
•2.2 L Turbo Charged closed deck engine and close ratio gearbox with DCCD
•Hand Rolled Fenders
•WRC look bumpers, grill, sideskirts, hood vents and adjustable rear spoiler
•Wide Track and big wide BBS wheels
•Bilstien suspension with Eibach Springs
•R180 Rear differential
•Anti Glare dash, Blue Alcantara Seats
•Red 4 pot brakes in the front, 2 pot in the rear
•Limited Production to 400 (plus some bonus cars given to people like Colin McRae)
To answer the previous question:
The awd of the L is about the same as a RS. It depends if it is MT or AT too. MT is 50:50 ratio, whereas, the AT is more front biased. The MY01 RS came with a rear LSD.
