The way I see it, the enthusiasts get a much better interior and the same performance of the last WRX. Soft suspension or not, numbers don't lie and the 08 spanks the 07 in the slalom. And as someone who's still riding on stock suspension, the GD models have their fair share of body roll and understeer.

And being that the WRX has only increased $500 in it's base price in the past 7 years, I don't see the STI increasing in price much higher.

i think this is the first mistake subaru made, i think the 06-07 wrx's and the 2.5l was a great decision, i have an 06 wrx ltd with leather and heated seats, i smoke cobb stage 1 bugeyes left and right dragin and handling, and i have so many more comforts then the bugeyes, the new wrx is gay,

Most new models always get ragged on until some aftermarket and factory developments are made.

New generations usually have developments in chassis rigidity and suspension improvements that make them "better" (subjective term) than their original predecessors.

Leather seats doesn't equal comfortable. For instance, I can park my car under the sun in August, get inside wearing shorts, and not have 2nd degree burns on my legs

02-03 seats > 04+ seats, STi or otherwise.

The 08 wrx has a open rear diff. No more power slides.

That's a pretty big assumption. Can't the earlier 2.5RS do power slides?

Yes Rs's can do "power slides" Just usually there isn't enough power. But in the snow you couldn't tell the difference from the 99's to the 00-01's with an lsd. If you don't have it you just have to pay attention a little more when you're going crazy. With the stock RE92's back in the day I used to be able to "drift" pretty well but once I put on SO3's I didn't have enough power to be able to spin in the rain.
