There is generally more advanced notice when there is a totally redesigned car. I would expect to hear something 2 years in advance or so, probably some buzz about a concept too. It is possible however that there will be a minor redesign like the 03-04 transition. I believe the '05s have the new interior though, so you're not missing out on that.

Subaru guards their product line very well. Notice how car magazines show next to nothing in the way of Suby 'spy' photos. About the most you will see are Subaru concept cars at international car shows, or the occasional artist's rendering of a concept.
They timed the official announcement of the USDM STi specifically to take away the fanfare from Mitsubishi's announcement of the USDM Lancer EVO VIII.

subaru's security is tighter than the nsa.

Subaru is developing an SUV sort of thing for release in either 06 or 07. Saab will also use the chasis with a slightly redesigned body and possibly a non-flat engine. Subaru has not said whether they will use a flat engine in it or not, although historically they damn well better, otherwise they will be like porsche and their stupid V8 928. I beleive I read that is either SCC or Motortrend.

Yes you are corect on the 7-seater. Its called the Tribeca and it is supposedly supposed to debut next Spring. It uses the same 3.0l H6 as found in the Outback 3.0R, which has 250hp and about the same amount of torque.
As far as my predictions on the next impreza, I'd have to agree with GDogg that most likely we wont see it till spring '07. I wouldn't however be suprised to see a minor redesigin in the next couple years.
Cheers

Well to late now if they change the model because I went ahead and bought a 2005 WRX!!!! I bought it for 24,864 it came with the premium package with 2.9 interest. Was this a good deal, i checked and it seems from Kelly blue book value I got it for invoice. They did not want to let it go for invoice I had to walk out before they called me and offered what I wanted.

. considering the wrx was released in 2002 to carry it out until 2007 would make the most sense before a total redesign... you gotta figure it takes millions to pay a R&D team to design a whole new platform... i may be wrong , but the only sketches released were ones used for the release of GT4 for the PS2. aloha from the summit of *-^-Mauna Kea-^-*
