From a promotional video that was posted earlier, the second spoiler is intended to direct air coming over the car down onto the the primary spoiler... I suppose the upforce generated by the second spoiler pushing air down is not as bad as the extra gain from the primary spoiler. Don't have time to find link to video.. it's somewhere on here.

i like the additional spoiler... but i must agree the wheels suck aside from the STI ones...
they should just go back to the original GC8 look and tweak it just a bit....

You know... its starting to grow on me, i like every bit of the front except the little grill and that even is growing on me. The only thing i would probably do is put in 04/05 tail lights and take off the rear star badge on the trunk if that is even possible.

If the new front end flows more air into the engine/hoodscoop, then I'm all for it. Plus it looks a lot sharper. I wish they had kept the design closer to some of the concept drawings, but I think the major re-design will be in the next couple years. In any case, I think every Impreza design is awesome, they are all unique and eye catching. For those who know about cars anyway. )

Sorry, I'm not buying it - the Subie or the "hottie".

The classics had a style all their own, as did the bugeyes (love em or loathe em) and the blobeyes but this... meh.

Someone please educate me...
What is the purpose of the roof vent?
http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.p...threadid=92652

I will take a guess....
Causes turbulance and more downforce on the *** end?
Better cornering?

TIA,
*mike*

the spec c version originally didn't come with AC, so the roof vent was for cooling off the cabin.

The looks aren't really growing on me. One thing is that they should've just kept the Impreza badge on one side, like the current model, and the STi on the other side (like the current model). Another thing is the 1.5l model. Looks like they're literally stripping all the stuff down (assuming this will be the new 'RS' trim', 02-03 RS had foglights, 04-05 RS doesn't, and some other bits). Not really liking the 'smoked' version of the bug-eye era lights.

On the other hand, I'd gladly take that job as the information person.

The other day I drove past a saturn coupe and noticed the head lights looked alot like these do. I think it is a conspiracy w/GM first neon headlights, now saab grill and saturn headlights. can't wait to see what they do next.

The more "exposed" I am to this car, the less I hate it. The new facia may come off as a bit of a shock, but after seeing the video with Tommi Makinen, the new STi seems like quite the improvement over the previous models, especially in terms of aerodynamics.

I'm still not liking the new look but from the pics through the link the white one is passable. And too bad Subaru didn't sell the red one here.
