i still think the evo X is not on par compared to the IX MR
if you can get the best motoring video of the old/new sti vs. old/new evos

Well - both the new STI and the X have left behind their original hard-core rally heritage and become softer cars to attract a wider audience and improve sales (Mitsu in particular - since the Evos have always sold way less that Subies). I'd have to say that both the new STI and X are very evenly matched - with the X's S-AWC making up for excess weight.
