04 vs 07 impreza on the 2.5rs/i
Okay, so aside from the grill and the 15 or so more HP on the 07, what's the difference?
Is the extra 15 HP on the 07 offset by more weight, or did it stay the same weight and just gain a little more power? What are the technical specs in the differences? I have an opportunity to buy an almost new 400 km 04 2.5rs and I have leverage to negotiate it lower than invoice, but if the 07 is actually mechanically better, I might wait until spring to buy. what's everyone's opinion?

so i guess im the only one posting, i have an 07 2.5i i havent driven the old rs but reveiws say that the active "i" lift that they put in it makes a suttle differnce comapared 2 the one with out it (its the same concept as VTEC) . note that this technology (sorry cant spell) was once only in the NA version of the legacy and they put it into the rs. as far as weight gose im pretty sure its the same weight as b4 jus with a differnt front end and tail lights . im not 2 sure but most of the parts for the older rs and wrx are sapose 2 fit on the car . all in all a brand new car is mechanically better in the fist place , its a waste of time figuring out how the prev. owner treated the car (thru repairs) . hope this helps even tho its kinda late 2 repond

hah 2 weeks later after all the hubbub and run around someone replies... man this place is deserted now. When I first signed up here this was the happenin' place. Ah well.
Thanks for the info, it turns out the dealership sold that car already... it was their demo for that year that they couldn't get rid of. They also offered me a '05 demo and the last 06 on the lot. 05 was the same deal but pull me over red, and 8% financing (so was the 04) and the 06 was 1.8% and a pretty good discount. I ended up not buying anything that day though. :/
