= ( Just got in wreck
I was just in an accident and I have a couple of questions...
The towtruck guy said that he would bet his two ***** that the car was totalled and when I asked him about taking the SSR'S w/RE70's off he said you're not allowed to touch anything in the car unless the insurance CO says it's ok.
I just have a couple of questions. How likely is it that my car is totalled? If it is, what happens to those aftermarket parts? (Wheels, Tires, BOV, Short Shifter). How much would I get for it if it is totalled? (it's a sonic yellow 03 WRX with 24K miles on it). Thanks in advance.

Go to KBB.com to see what your car is worth and your insurance company should give you somewhere around there, give or take 4%
Once they OK you to grab your personal belongings, I would switch the rims out with stockers and take out all the aftermarket stuff. . . or you could go the more politically correct way
Buy the car as a salvage, take off everything that isnt welded to the frame (and some that are) and sell it all. You have your insurance cash plus whatever all the rest is worth.
I know part recyclers that would for example pay $200 for an intercooler ect. ect. WRX engines/trannys always go for ok amounts.
Good Luck

Hope everyone is okay.
I wouldn't buy it back, simply because the engine is probably smashed in front. However, there's a really good chance the car isn't totalled. SonicSuby had similar damage from his collision last year ('03 sonic yellow WRX sedan) and came in around $13k for repairs. As long as yours don't go much over that you will probably get your car back. The question is, do you really want it back?

Were there pics in your original post?
My accident sucked pretty bad but my car is fine. It drives just like it used to, looks just like it did before the accident. What kind of collision was it?
If your insurance company does total the car, you'll have access to it again. You can either tell them you want money for your aftermarket parts (which might not happen unless you have specific additional coverage for them) or you can say you want your wheels back and you'll replace them with the factory ones. Insurance usually doesn't care when you pull your aftermarket stuff off, but you MUST replace the parts with something like the factory bits.
If they do total your car, check the KBB value for it obviously, and then check local listings for prices. If you're unhappy with the amount your insurance company tries to give you (provided that you're reasonably unhappy, if they offer 20k and you want 21k you're out of line), you can fight them to get more for your car. The idea if they total your car is to replace your vehicle for you, not necessarily to pay for it's KBB value. If you can provide a few similar examples of your car for sale (like a '03 WRX with 20 - 30k miles) for more than they offer, print the ads out, or cut them out if in the paper (ick) and provide them to your insurance company to let them know what is really fair market on your car.
If they don't total it, I've heard good things about Bodycraft in Rancho Cordova - my roomate and some other members have gone there. I would reccomend against Bertoluccis. They did the work on my car and it came out fine but.. uhh.. I dunno, they're really expensive and I always had a wierd feeling when I was there.
Sorry about the accident, man. My car was down for 30 days when I had mine. You weren't hurt though, and even though it's cliche to say so, that's what really counts. Hope your car is cool. PM me if you want and I can try to help a little more. And not to vulture you, but if you've got some painted aftermarket body parts (like STi scoop or foglight covers or something), let me know, I might be interested

No, the reason I edited was cuz dorifto88 adviced me to not put out any specifics info about the wreck just in case the insurance pple don't like what i wrote and decide to void or whatever. I shouldn't happen tho. BTW, quick details, i was on I-5 and i swerved to avoid a box and the car met the center divider. It was a head on collision with the divider which sucked.
I remember talking to you about it sonicsuby. This was a while ago in a meet in Natomas I think. I rolled up with another sonic yellow and a silver wrx. Gawd I hope she's not gone. but seriously tho, thank god we're all ok. Mike will probably never ride with me again but he's doing better.

I'm really sorry to hear about that man...in my world, if you swerved to avoid a box in the road and wrecked, the guy who left the box there would pay for a new ride...I think if you ever had time alone with the car you could put the BOV and short shifter back to stock and noone would be the wiser, but I don't know if that's possible. I hope you're passenger makes it ok, and I'm glad to hear/see that you're ok. But most of all, don't listen to the towtruckdriver...yeah, he's prolly seen more of these than we all have, but he doesn't deal with all the aftermath, just the towing, so hope for the best and do what you can. I'll be thinking positive thoughts for everyone that was involved.

Well, if both your airbags went off, it probably is totaled. I guess all you can do is wait for the body shop or your adjusters word :|. Sorry, man.
If it is totaled, can you afford an STi?

I just got off the phone with the insurance guy and he said that my car's value came up to just below $20K which means that it would be really hard to total it. The frame is bent and the front end of the car is a lot worst than SonicSuby's wreck. About 4-5 inches more is gone from the front. I will post pics today after I swap some parts.
The insurance person said that Hayes Brothers is a good shop backed by the insurance co. Anybody else have any shops that they have had the rex's worked on before? I know Hayes is pretty good but i just want to know what my options are. Thank you.
BTW...Sonicsuby, sorry but I don't have any parts that you might be interested in. My car is pretty much stock except for the wheels, BOV, alarm, short shifter. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it since I don't think I want another car.
