Easiest way to get the "feel" of the DCCD. Get it a wide open parking lot. Put the DCCD in manual and roll it all the way to the back(Full Open, big green O). Turn your wheel all the way to the left or right. Start gasing it slowly, you'll start to go round and round in nice smooth circles.

Now stop, put the DCCD all the way forward(Full Lock, big orange FULL LOCK), keep the wheel turned, and gas it ever so slowly again. You'll only go a little ways before you feel your whole car bucking and it will slow down to a crawl. This is the differential doing what it does best, binding up as it's trying to make the front wheels and the rears spin at the same speed. Failing to do so, it just keeps binding till it it can't bind no more. When you come to a stop and let off the gas, your car will jitter a little as your rear tires spin out just a bit, that is the diff unbinding itself.

That is it in a nut shell, just do that and roll the DCCD back and forth while going in small circles, you'll get it eventually.

Ohh yah... and while you're testing it in Full Lock and it just starts to bind up, if for any reason you feel like flooring it ... make sure you have a lot of parking lot around you...

I have a question. Does this mean that if you pull the hand brake to 1 click. Just enough to get the light on, and slam on the gas, you will be able to smoke the rear tires?

CANCELLATION OF DIFFLOCK
Even if the DCCD is set to LOCK (orange), by pulling the hand brake lever, it will automatically go to DIFF FREE, moving all power to the rear wheels. (linked to the brake warning light)
No... it doesn't move any power anywhere, it just makes the diff complete open(or as they are saying, free) while the handbreak is engaged. It's the same thing as having it on Manual and rolling the selector all the way back to open. It's just there so that if you are in Auto or in any of the varying degrees of lock, then you don't destroy your center diff when you immeadiately lock up your rear wheels by pulling the e-break.
