Timing belt?

In the STi 2.5, is it still running a timing belt? A chain would be nice.

thanks,

ever have a belt break? The fact that you have to replace belts every so often sucks.

Do some research on EZ30 Subaru motors that use a timing chain and you will find out why I say the chain sucks.

Replacing a timing belt on EJ20 is a 1 hour job.

It's so damn easy on a horizontally opposed engine...try changing it on a frickin Honda!

I'm glad it's easy to change on the boxer. I know the pain on changing a Honda, infact that's why I asked. I have 2 Hondas right now that require changes.

Ummmmm... no thanks. I replaced the timing chain and assembly on a Celica with a 22REC... RWD, plenty of space (relatively) to work... and it sucked. Can't imagine it on a front driver, even with a belt.
