I know we can't really compare these cars because of price...but what do you think the outcome would be in this matchup on a roadcourse...let's say Laguna Seca, CA or Limerock CT.

Also, I would really like to know what you think the competition would be between the stock z06 Vs. an STI with full turbo back exhaust, uppipe and tuned ECU, and thicker rear sway.

No Contest!

ZO6 will kill an STI on a road course. The difference in the Power-to-Weight ratio is too large and the ZO6 comes also has massive wheels and tires. The ZO6 also weighs less than the 3250-3300 that the STI is expected to weigh.

Take a look at Autocross results. The ZO6 dominates in Stock Class. Now add straights to the equation and you can imagine what will happen.

The STI will probably give the M3 a run for it's money though.

 

That's what i thought

anyway, I was doing some research and it seems that there is a Camaro that can probably give a run for the money, the 1LE option is double adjustable koni's and heavy duty springs, that car is supposedly very competitive on a road course, weak spot being brakes.

...i have a chance to buy a z06 for 43,000 but have NO way of coming up with that kind of money!
