STI - Please don't offer JUST GOLD wheels!
I wrote to Subaru and told them to offer a choice of Gold and Silver OR Gold and Gunmetal Grey wheels. If you feel that Subaru should offer us a choice, you should also write to them.

Dude, STi and Gold Wheels go hand in hand.
I would guarantee that there will be 2 wheels offered with this sti. The stock gold wheels, like the ones on the GDB, and the Gold forged BBS lightwheels, like are on the car in detroit.

Hello,
Plus, if you're not into loud stuff, I'm sure you can sell your hood, wing (or wing+trunklid), and wheels to some non-STi-owning person and make enough to get your own choice of all three and still have spending cash left over!
I mean, the wing does scream like a honda wing... And the scoop is over doing it a little. But, hey, you can't be all stealth, eh?

I never said NOT of offer GOLD rims. All I'm asking for is a choice!
Hello,
While the STi is certainly the most impressive factory Subaru, I doubt this is the first time ever that Subaru decided to use a functional wing... I'd love to be wrong, but I'm guessing the "function" of the wing is to look cool.
I guess the adjustible 22B wing was supposed to be functional, but didn't someone post a couple years ago that ProDrive found their own wing to be much more effective anyway? So that the factory wing was only somewhat functional...
All I'm saying is that I would love to get an STi and trade away the super-show stuff and have a much more subtle car in the end. But I wouldn't want Subaru to sell that!

not everyone is into the gold wheels looks...i personally am not...but a lot of people like it...

It's amazing how gold wheels are only cool to Subaru fans, but ghetto to the rest of the world. Even more amazing is how those gold fans are so quick to call "rice" if a guy puts a carbon-fibre hood on his Civic.
I think a Blue WRX with gold looks pretty neat. I'ld never own it. White with gold doesn't look as tacky to the outside world. I probably wouldn't do it, but it's possible. Black with gold look freak'n good. Still not much chance I'd do it though. Silver with gold looks like A$$. For black, silver, and white, I'ld choose silver or gunmetal. For the blue, I'ld get silver, but I would understand those who go with gold.

I think it's an identity issue. Subaru knows that as with the success of the wrx, now especially with the 300 hp STI, that people will recognize this as a bi-product of Rally racing.
If you read all of the press releases from Subaru, they have made it very clear that they have set out to win rallies in the U.S. and sell more of their recent bread and butter,....the wrx.
With the 2.5 legacy B4 on the horizon, they want to inspire all future Subaru buyers with ...BRAND IDENTITY.........
