Yeah I would love a quicker rack. The last STI was 2.6. Much worse than evo's 2.1. Also don't forget, the EVO's 0-60 time is w/ a 6k clutch drop! I don't think you'll have to go as high w/ the gobs of torque the STI has.

Tires on the STI vs. EVO

those Advan A046 s are really good...

better grip w/ the wider 235

we should get the A 048 just to even our shoes..

hehe..

dreaming again..
The Advan a046 has a tread rating of 250, the Potenza 070 have a tread rating of 160. To paint a proper picture, the Michelin Pilot sports have a tread rating of 280. Higher the number means HARDER compound!! Yokoham 032R, which is a d.o.t. race tire, has a tread rating of 60,which is why alot of people run them on the street and track days. Most of the "ultra high performance" tires are between 270 and 290.

So we are getting a very sticky set of tires for a street car, and this is why Subaru is calling them "Summer" radials, just as Lexus warned me about the tires on our IS300 (claimed will only last 20k).

To finish the comparison, a Hoosier d.o.t race tire is rated at 0(zero) and the stickiest comp t/a's are 60, along with Kuhmo's at a 75.

160 from the Potenza's will test very well on the skid pad for the media and Subaru doesnt have to spend money on making the chassis over stiff.

MY 2 CENTS WORTH..........
