why would he lie? Like i said they arent supposed to release the price even to dealerships! They can give you guesstimate-but that's about it even though they know the price is already set. So your going to be in Phoenix huh? Well I guess you havent heard they changed the location to Pittsburgh, PA....
You must be a salesman cuz unless your a sales rep. or sales person thats all they are sending. Hmmm.... They might send serice advisors as well but thats still being debated. And as far as running a 100mph in the dirt, you must not have gone to the test drive when the WRX first came out when the flew us to Vegas. You wont be in the dirt at a 100mph plus you have a professional driver with you and yes they limit you.
oops just read your a salesman....

Yes I am a alesman, also they have 2 locations for the track testing our factory rep told us about the pittsburgh one and there is also a phoenix one. We do not get to drive the Sti on the racetrack at 100MPH we get to ride with the pro. Are you a salesman as well? You seem to know more than the average guy about the testing and price. I hope the STi is priced about 29 to 30K that would be awesome. I would be more inclined to buy one myself at that price. My 95 Legacy Lsi is starting to show its age, even though it still runs great with 114,00 miles.

Nope i'm not the average guy.... I'm not a salesman, but I do work for Subaru and I even talked them into giving me a WRX to race. Its been alot of fun and I'm 99.9% sure of the price. I'll be at the Pittsburgh drive though, as far as me getting an STI thats still up in the air. I put a deposit down but we have 5 STI's sold to customers already which have confirmation #'s. I probably wont get mine till August depending on all the customers before me.

Subaru is going to be doing some interesting things, will the STI still be there? More than likley... I'm sure you've heard they are releasing the turbo charged Forester w/the 2.5 motor this year as well, its based after the same platform as the STI abut no where near the power. The B4 legacy is also coming out but they are targeting the M5 BMW's & Audi crowd with the B4, it will be the first Subaru that breaks the 40k price. The STI WRX will still be there in 05-06 and probably wont change much from what it is today, the biggest changes will probably come out of whatever little gremlins they find in this new production which hopefully wont be many....

NOPE, did not mean the 540... Meant the M5, yes its a tall wall to climb but the Legacy Blitzen is no joke, it will be somewhere along th lines of 360hp if not more. Brembo brakes, twin turbo maybe and tons and tons more. Its what there shooting for, they might not reach it but it'll be nice to see what the car can do.

I went to a PA dealership and my rep told me that he was being sent to the track in Phoenix. But i spoke to him about this a week ago.
But he did say it was going to be a 2 day trip. The first day theyw ill be riding shotgun to the pro driver, then they have to take a test. If they pass the test on the STi then the next day they get to drive it with the pro sitting shotgun.
Is this correct?
(And since it was a week ago this is the first time i have heard anything about them moving the location from Phoenix to PA.... but if it is moved i would like to find out the exactly location cause i live about 2 hours away and would make the trip just to see the proformance of the car with a pro driver.... even if im outside of a fence.) Anyone willing to join me??

I think what you guys are forgetting about is how much these dealerships are going mark these cars up. I've called on the Sti's and being told of Additional Dealer Markups of $8,000 to $10,000.
Just like the nonsense of the Mits's. What a joke. I'm Glad my WRX is still fast for now and I guess I can wait. I cant Believe Subaru would put up with this.
I guess unless you're in the know or the club you get taken huh.
Too bad. Must be why people don't like Salespeople. The wostthing is thats what I do. I sell for a living. And I'd Never belive what I was hearing.

Mark the STI up 8-10k? There might be some bone head dealerships that do this, but those are the ones that wont sell very many. Most of the dealerships will sell straight MSRP the reason being is Subaru wants to blow Mitsubishi out of the water. Yes I know accomplishing that isnt exactley easy when you have a limited production vehicle-but it is possible. Subaru knows its made mistakes and lost i dont know how much money not selling STI parts for the WRX in the past. So now they are releasing the STI parts for sale soon, which will help secure the STI in the U.S.A.
