She's IN!
Dealer just called me....2 Silver/silver's are in & one is mine.
He said that I got in at the right time...they are marking up $5K now since the allocations are so limited....Rafferty Subaru, PA
What radar detector is the best?
Valentine?
I know I could research this off of Google but I want the experienced opinion.....
Thx in advanced....

I had my name in for about 5 months or so....
I actually asked a few dealerships about a year & a half ago if the STI was coming to the states....not in the near future they said....
Anway he may have just been referring to the current market...
Supply & Demand.....yes it is just a Subaru but there is always someone out there that will pay for the latest & greatest...
I stupidly paid for a PS2 at $500 with 2 games when the PS2 was hot....
I was just talking to a colleague & he said that he was trying to buy a Mercedes compressor at $28K..(supposedely they are in high demand)...Mercedes is not allowed to sell above MSRP.....what this dealership is then doing is driving them until about 400 miles & then selling them, marked up of course, as used....
Anway as with anything new we pay a premium & sometimes more.....Christmas time early for some of us.....

If you guys are interested Wappingers Falls Toyota-Subaru in Wappingers Falls, NY is selling the Sti's for sticker price and not a penny more. They are getting 12 per year which is the most of any dealer in the area. If you call ask for Craig Kamarchyk who is the internet sales guy. Good luck.

There are MANY dealerships selling for MSRP.........shop around. Yes, the supply is limited but many of the long waiting lists are dwindling very rapidly for a whole host of reasons.......unless you live out West someplace where mark-ups are rife (e.g. Cali) I certainly wouldn't pay a penny over MSRP.
Your paying $5K markup? Look here, I think I see the word STUPID plastered on your forehead! Really, there is no need to play them a markup. Be patient, a lot of us have been patient for 6+ months!

Guy at Rafferty Subaru is jerking your chain. I was in Fred Beans Subaru in Doylestown couple weeks ago getting my WRX inspected. I spoke with the sales manager there about the STI.
They are selling at or below MSRP for starters he said.
Then we talked about the wait list, he said he had 16 names on the wait list. When I asked how many of the people on the list would actually buy he guessed "maybe 4 or 5". He said he's been in the car business for a long time and seen the "wait list" hype game played many times. He said it is all dealer hype to try and get people to pay MSRP. He said a few of these people will buy Evos and the rest will ultimately just not be able to part with $33K after taxes.
So he said when he did the Beetle Introduction waitlist at VW, the yield off the waitlist was only about 22% and he expects the same with STI.
He said they would be getting "more than enough STI's in to satisfy this area", and Doylestown is only 25 minutes from Rafferty Subaru. So I don't think this cat at Rafferty is gonna be able to get $5K over MSRP unless he gets idiots walking through the door.

Just picked up my Silver/Silver.
Paid MSRP plus the compass and security system.
5% for five years
Also purchased LoJack with the LoJack Early Warning system too (you never know).....Vehicle is "etched" too...
Car is definitely not an everyday commuter....Otherwise it is awesome.....gobs of torque...can't wait until it is broken in....
Manufacturers usually break them in somewhat so I am getting more & more tempted to open it up...
Drove about 90 miles & as I pulled closer to my house I noticed headlights quickly approaching me from the rear...slowed down....Black Lotus S4...Raining out too? Could I have taken him???
I'm 28 and I feel like it's Christmas time 15 years ago...
Also NO floor mats.....Have to wait or order them from the other posts (GB)....
Any suggestions on aftermarket gauges (turbo, etc..)?
K&N, tinted windows, DVD player, bigger turbo, etc....I need to hit the lottery....

LoJack Early Warning Recovery System
When your vehicle has been stolen, every second counts in recovering it. Introducing the LoJack Early Warning Recovery System. The auto security system that lets you know if your vehicle has been moved without your permission.
It provides an added layer of protection on top of the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System to give you peace-of-mind.
It enables the police to track and recover your stolen vehicle sooner.
You carry a personal LoJack Early Warning Key Pass that sends a signal to the LoJack Early Warning Recovery System confirming that you are an authorized driver.
It alerts you to check on your vehicle no matter where you are- at work or traveling.
You choose how you want to be contacted - phone, e-mail or alpha pager.
If you confirm your vehicle has been stolen, you contact the police and they will activate LoJack.
Once installed, you register your system with LoJack and select your contact preferences.
Not too bad for $250....
Thanks for the info on the Kenwood.....I'll look into it soon because the sound from the tires is gonna kill me....
Thx

Here in So. Cal. the mark up started at 9K and some dealers will try and get that the others are at 5K. What you won't here from those at the top of the waiting list is they are waiting for that phone call from the deal on the MSRP price. Now if the people on the list want to pay the extra they can drive off in the car today. So how bad do you want the car? Today or next year. Does anybody out there remember the mark up on the GNX Buick? Same thing only after the GNX the performance option was no longer produced. The car held its value even if you paid the mark up. So the body style of the Empreza is old and due for a new skin. This could be the last of the Sti.. Hummm maybe not.. just a thought.... A long one..

Ok $$$ no I wouldn't pay 9k over sticker but 5K..? Humm. Raising the vehicle to 37k+ compared to and Evo at about the same with mark up on a higher number produced vehicle. If you don't have the $ or credit aproval to buy a 37K vehicle then by all means wait for the price to come down. I would gladly buy the car now and pay the extra. Look back at history. The Corvette ZR1 made from 1990-95 <8000 were produced. Average price for the vette now 70-90k in good condition. The Buick GNX production only 547 in "1986" general mark up was 5K-7k over msrp. Now the car can go for thousands more then it sold for new. I think this is a good example of why I would pay the extra 5k. For others maybe not.
