Ok,..first things first, I e-mailed 9 pics to Marcpaco and he is going to post them. I am not good at simple computer stuff, yet if you needed someone to set up a MOTEC and program a 911 GT3-RS to run rich at night and lean in the day( DAYTONA 24 hrs) I could do it, or do a string alignment in the rain on anything with more than 3 degrees negative camber, I could do it, but simply posting pic on I-club,...forget it.
Having had said that, the 9 pics are ,..STI keys, rear diff with sensor plug for auto setting on center diff, engine bay, red silicine hose going under intercooler, rear 60+ mm diameter rear exhuast section and rear muffler. Oh there is one in there of a STI rear muffler that was in the trunk. This part was labeled," product correct part",...??? don't ask,..I am clueless, the SOA engineer that fixes the all wheel drive display said it was a different muffler that was tried and that SOA wanted it to stay in the car.
Subaru Team rep Vince said,." there are two of these in the country, one on the east coast and one on the west coast. Both have been through 2500 miles each of preliminary testing by Subaru....." Vince repeated that there are, and or were 5 being tested in Ancorage,Alaska,..and that the same were then being tested in Arizona.
I dont like repeating that because there is no source, other than ,.." the buzz at Soa is ,..blah-blah-blah,.." What I do know is the mid-Atlantic sales rep Jamie Penfold and District service manager Ron Deyoung were kool enough to (SUNDAY) connect the battery on the STI and turn on the headlights, adjust them with the 4 way adjustment ****(height and angle) and See the tach sweep around to 7000 RPM REDLINE !!
The ZENON headlights are so sweet,..the high beams are regular light, but with the adjustment you'll be able to have them cranked out to see the world lit up on your favorite back road.
Since my post on Thursday, I gave the serial number on the turbo, that I memorized, to a buddy of mine at a well known southern performance shop. He has yet to confirm this but he though the numbers were from a VF-34, which if you do your math,..A 2.5 liter engine would be perfect with a VF-34 turbo.
( that 's my .02 anyway)
And last but not least, my Team Subaru guy says,..
BLUE CAR--GOLD WHEELS
BLACK CAR--GOLD WHEELS
SILVER CAR--SILVER WHEELS
WHITE CAR--SILVER WHEELS.
That I know for 100% certain,..saw in in the SOA memo, dated
FEB 4, 2003.
Again I think the Subaru sales and service reps were very kool to do what they did,..my girlfreind, soon to be Fiance', also played a vital role,..for she was dressed in this wonderful PRODRIVE team jersey that I bought her at the 24 hrs of Daytona last week, with embroidery all over it,..she look so STI-ish today that it helped me pull off being this big sponge for info.
I found out everything I wanted to know except 2 things,.........
1) weight
2) price
...both of which I dont really care about,..caused I have waited 10 years for an STI model to come to the U.S. , let alone one that is better than the J-spec version. I had a G-60 jetta that ran 13.7 at 108 mph when I first started thinking about Impreza's and WRX's. I saw a Asian guy with a grey market WRX run at Captital Raceway in 94' ,..car was stock with 208 hp, ran a 13.68 ,.he left on the limiter, jumped out 5 cars on me, I ran him down with .02 and lost, since then , that day ,..I have wanted a STI,...........
So color, wheel choice,..no radio,....dont care,.....STI-ville for me..
944 turbo guy.
P.S. hopefully dude will post pic soon.

Special thanx to Marc for posting for me,..there are key pictures coming and 2 pictures of a wrx with Fikse 18inch wheels.
I need your opinion on this wheel on my STI,..19 inch with 14.5 inch Performance Friction alloy hat rotors and 6 piston AP calipers.
944 turbo guy.
P.S. and for you guys who'll say,.." there arent any sticky tires made in 19 inch,...."
wrong,...!!! Michelin Pilot Sport Competition, D.O.T. and trqad rating of a 60,...Yokohama R32 is a 60 also and Bridgestone So2's are a 280,..235/30-wr-19.
Just a little bling to go with all that torque !!
The Fikse weigh 14-17 lbs each !!

Exhaust
After looking at that exhaust, it looks like that strap that is tack welded on is the 'fix'. I hope that does not show up on the production version. There should be rubber hangers throughout. I am sure it is just a quick fix to solve some clearance/movement problem. If you look above the strap, it looks like there is a metal hook where the rubber hanger is supposed to go. I could be mistaken.
In regards to the color choices, I am rather disappointed. I would like a black/silver (gunmetal would be better) instead of the black/gold. The gold is a little to flashy for me. I am still buying the car but may see if white/silver owners would want to trade.
As for recall/warranty issues with this car, there is a good chance there will be one. Personally, I don't really care since the warranty will cover it. I really should wait for this car to mature before I buy it. But can resist this? It has all the $$ in the places that count.

Fikse's are 'nt even close to being "Dubs",...if they are then half the 911 GT3-Rs 's at Daytona and a good number of cars in the
"ALMS"( American LeMans series) are all ridin' on "Dubs".
I chose the size because a WRX body absorbs 18 inch wheels, a GC8 body is perfect with 18inch wheels.
Fikse wheels are forged and modular, I have dipped a wheel at the track in my 944 turbo and come back on, which always bends your rims, and have hit big potholes when the car was a street car and have never bent a wheel, and this is with 500lb spring rates. So they are strong, light weight and look good,..I could maybe see if they were some Giavinni's or something like that,..but to call them "Dubs",....come on,..I guess you dont put tire shine on your wheels also,..or an air freshner in your car either?...lol
I respect your opinion, and your response is very similar to everyone else, I am not offended. In the end I will have 18's 'cause my girlfriend says she wont drive with 19's.
Thanks for the advise.

hhmnnnnnnnn,,maybe a domino for the mirror in the STI,....lol

944 Turbo Guy...
Thanks for the pics and getting close to the car. I was there Sat night and tried to get the guy to let me up on the turntable but no workie. He said if no one was around no problem but it was packed so I was relegated to the outterbounds of the spinning STi on the platter.
The guy that was spewing the details on the stage rattled off a 0-60 in 4.4 secs. After he was done I was like "dude, where did you get the number from?" He said some editors from some mag where there earlier and he got it from them...I said that sounds a little too good to be true and I was skeptical, he agreed and seemed to back away from the number in his next shpeil to the crowd. He did the same for the weight and price....MSRP between 32 & 35 and weight around 3200. Most of which we have already heard. I would be happy with a sub 5 second 0-60 number but that may be a stretch. In any event it is a solid performer and great mod platform to work with.
The car really looks great in person...glad I saw it. The blue/gold which I had previously thought was too bling, bling actually looks very nice. I am going with the Silver/Silver but might change that...as for the wheels are the BBS not forged? I am all for unsprung weight and love Fikse. I was saving for a set for my 911...until the STi reared it's head. ;-)
Where do you track your 944? I have a 911 Carrera that is setup for the track that I take up to Summit Point for various driver's ed events. Have you heard of the new track up there? Should be sweet.
I am 6th in line at Dulles Motorcars in VA for the STi and live near Potomac Falls. We should get together sometime and check out the cars.

1) Wheels are BBS FORGED
2) Tires are Bridgestone RE070 (they are spossed to be fantastic)
3) ALL color cars come with BOTH gold and silver wheels (no mention of gunmetal)

Nolift911-
I race it in SCCA ITE and NASA pro sedan-5. Best lap time in 2001 was a 1:23 , the car weighed 2600 lbs then, since I shaved 242 lbs and added a Kelly-Moss engine, Essex Racing in Ga. is building me a 14.9 inch AP brake kit, and I have been racing in the Panos series last year, and tested with some Speedvision teams.
I hope to secure last minute sponsorship in the next couple of weeks, so we'll see. No one wants to give up money right now!!
This Saturday I'll be attending my 5th BSR instructors seminar at Summit Point for FATT instructors and Mazda club @ VIR is 3 weeks away.
944 turbo guy.
P.S they showed us the plans for the new track last year before "Hyperfest" ,the new track is gonna be sweet, very technical and will require car control for a fast lap time. They are building a go-kart track also and I ordered my 3 year old a kart already with a short wheel base and will have to buy one for me soon too !!
