Sat in STI tonight@ Baltimore Auto show
My Girlfriend works for Subaru and worked the Auto show tonight so I got to see this thing in person. EMOTIONAL.....one word.
Turn key and tach sweeps to 7000 rpm redline ,I did not look at speedo. The turbo is bigger, I wasnt able to take a close picture of it. There are 3 cats, and drive by wire throttle body. The seats look good , but dont feel any better. The key has STI inscribed in it, and is two tone and heavy. The hood scoop is large enough to be a Block buster video tape return,....it is f---in huge !!
The suspension, if you push down on the fender, feels very stiff in comparison to my 2003 wrx. The intercooler is very long and covers the entire area between the strut towers. The intake is very pretty and the initial hose that goes to the incooler is red also.
The steering wheel is noticeably smaller. I saw a auto climate control button on the center console and the headlights can be adjusted from inside the car by a switch next to where the foglight switch is. There are 4 settings for headlight aim.
To get reverse gear you have to pull up on the ring below the **** and the shifter has a more weighted feel to it.
Brake ducts in the lower front spoiler send air to the brakes. The exhuast is a large opening,..this thing has to sound good !!
I took alot of pictures and will post them here friday night.
Dude gave me a STI pen, ...I guess cause I stood there from 7:30 to 10 o' clock..
To see this car in person is very different than in any book,..the wing really "moves you". And now I have to have the blue and gold. I was not a previous fan of that combo,..but man,....people will know the deal when you pull up next to 'em in that thing.
I went to the show tonight with 3 objectives.
1) see the turbo
2) sit in seats
3) see the uppipe or count the cats.
Sunday night I will be there at closing to maybe hear it start up and taken down, so the display can be trucked away on Monday.!!

Do you know where the car is going after Baltimore? I am near Pittsburgh and our new car autoshow is the last week in Feb. My dealer said its not going to be there, but i'm hoping it will be. We just got a brand new, state of the art convetion center and its hard to believe it won't be here!
