Question Radio Information...

I know that my STi will hold a single DIN or a double DIN radio.

What I am not clear on are speaker dimensions. Can I get a little help with the speaker dimesions? I am gonna order speakers and a head unit this week.

For a head unit I love double DIN. I think I am going to go with Kenwood's DPX-MP4030. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I hear that the STi will hold 6.5" speakers in the front if 3/8" spacers are installed. This will keep the window from hitting the speaker magnet when it is rolled down. I also hear that 5.25" speakers fit in the back doors if spacers are installed. Not sure how big these back spacers have to be.... Individual audio company's speakers vary in size even though they will all be called 6.5" or 5.25", etc (because of magnet size, etc.) so to be safe, you should probably try fitting the speakers before you have them installed.

With regard to double DIN units, there are not many around so any one you can find should be fine. I am more a fan of Alpine than Kenwood and know that Alpine either still makes a double DIN unit or made one very recently. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what model it is off the top of my head. Alpine is slightly more expensive though....

If you want a nicer head unit, the normal DIN units have more flexibility and options.
