Gauges??!!
Quick Newbie question,
Being that the STi is my first turbo charged car...i was wondering which three gauges do i need for everyday driving...i know one of them should be the boost gauge, what about the other two? also what sites would you guys recommend me to, i've heard of defi, and omori, are these the only two known to be compatible with subaru's? Would a 3 gauge panel unit fit into one of the single din spaces reserved for the stereo? and would there be any gauges that would match the red panel lighting of the STi?
thanks for your help,
Ghost

I would put in boost, oil temp and oil pressure.
IMHO, those are the three most important ones.
I would think that all gauges would work, the thing that matters is the sending unit for those gauges. Boost should be easy, oil temp and oil pressure, you may need a distribution block.
I am personally thinking of Autometer/VDO gauges.
As for the placement of the gauges, I'm thinking the same spot as yours, one of the DIN spot on the dash. I think a 3 gauge panel should work with 52 mm or 2 1/16" gauges.
For lighting, I've never seen the color yet on the STi, but you can get different bulb to try to match the gauges to your interior lighting.

lol, nice! "evo behind me comment". . .
Is anyone opting for the 3-pack gauge cluster mounted on the dash in the clock location? I'm thinking about it. Along with the factory boost gauge on the steering column. Nothing says nice, more than OEM equipment, IMHO. I've been down the after-market route, it just makes your car look like a car out of Stupid Street.
