Playing "Gran Turismo 3" to pick my Sti options!

I just revisited this game on my Playststion 2 and went into the virtual Subaru dealership and discovered so many different kinds of Sti! I guess they are all from Japan because they have so many in the game. They have a wagon STi and two door sedan type STi. The prototype STi car in the game is what we are getting in a few months with the new body and headlights! Best of all they have a 4 door sedan Sti with new body and headlights withA SMALLER HOOD SCOOP AND TINY REAR SPOILER! (On another note the other prototypes in the game were the 350Z that have obviously also come to fruition among other cars like the Mazda RX-8) Anyway, with these kinds of graphics I was able to buy my Sti in all sorts of colours with various rim configurations, race them around the track and watch the excellent replays to see what colour I liked best. Believe it or not, white looks very sharp with Rays gram light rims. I really recommend trying this and it's a lot of fun.

I thought the most recent model available on Gran Turismo 3 was the STi with the round headlights. I don't even think concept images of the coming 2004 WRX STi were out when this game was in development/production.
Even the Z is very different from what is out now. Check out the back of the GT3 Z. You'll notice dual half-moon style tailpipes that are completely integrated into the rear bumper while the production version has dual round tailpipes.

Z Difference
Well, for starters, it comes w/ a 5 spd and the ratios are all screwed up. I did get a racing transmission (to get the 6th gear) and set the ratios as close as I could to the real one. Even so, I found 3rd gear to be much too tall.
HP & Torque ratings are quite different (though I think GT3s metric to standard conversion screw up might have something to do with this).
This car was 'created' in this game at a time when not much was known about it except displacement, vague HP figures, and a concept shape.
