I'm so happy i finally found a dealer that will talk to me straight. I am going to a "meeting" with the head guy at this dealership and he is going to tell me everything about the colors, wheels, options, EVERYTHING! needless to say i will be strapping a voice recorder so i will have everything. Come saturday i will be a happy man. I will post as much as i can find out for everyone to read. I can't decide between the white with the silver wheels or the black with the silver wheels. I will keep yall posted on what i get soon!
I ordered a WR Blue Pearl with gunmetal wheels. According to my dealer, the wheel colors are gold and gunmetal. I saw the actual order form and I read gunmetal with my own eyes, lol. I guess gunmetal can be a shade of silver!

What dealer? I went to Grayson in Knoxville Monday and they tried to tell me they were getting them in Feb., would be around $36 base, w/options of sunroof and wing only. I suggested June, base of 31-34 and options of fogs and wheels were the only ones likely now and they denied that. Then their regional rep happened to walk in and just happened to corroborate my suggestions. He said they know about as much as people on the forums at this point. Talked to him for a couple minutes as sales people gathered and they started asking me questions, what fun. They want $500 refundable now and $5000 (assuming cash purchase I guess) non-refundable when they get the vin # (only if you still want it with the final choice of options and price that is), MSRP or below.
PA here. I put a deposit down at Langston Subaru in Monroeville.

I put a refundable $500 down on a STi Monday here in Omaha, NE. I'm number 4 in line at this particular dealership. The dealer dude said that it was going to be around $29 to $30, but nobody is for sure yet. It'll be about 3 to 4 months for the first car to come in.
My guess is that if SOA is releasing 300 units a month, I probably won't be getting mine on the first wave...

Ok let me tell you that TN dealers are full of it. First off i tried calling jim reed and they gave me the run around and said basically what everyone has been saying about how they don't know anything. I then called stones river motors! When i called they did the same thing until i stating things i knew about the sti... after that the started talking... for some reason i had push my way to get answers.... I am number 3 on the list now... try calling them man. Hope it works out!
You guys got me all excited. I call my sales guy at the Subaru place and he said the only thing he knew(and he wasn't even certain) was it would arrive in June or July. He was not aware of any ordering info available. Aarrrrrrrrrgggg, this waiting is driveing me nuts.

I called the dealer yesterday. He said no real news on ordering. Well, He called me back today. He said Subaru is not taking any sold orders. The STi is on allocation only. The options will be whatever they will be, color included. When I place my deposit earlier this month, he said they were getting four for the year. He told me today there will be only one for the year. I'm #1 on the list. I'll buy it, whatever color it will be. It would have been nice to at least select the color on a 30K+ vehical. At least I'll be getting it at MSRP (whoever thought I would be greatful for MSRP). Have any of your guys hear any different?

Dealer in Canada said he already ordered 2 STIs, Blue. According to him, the STI would be arriving in Canada in March. He claimed he was getting them for $33K (? USD).

If you're putting down a deposit without an actual "Buyer's
Order" then you are probably being played with. Your dealer
can't order the car at this point, so I guess he is just selling you
a "place in line". Personally, I don't have enough faith in car
dealers to view this as meaningful in the least. I don't think it
makes much sense to put down a deposit without getting back
either a VIN (which is impossible at this point) or an order number
(which is also impossible at this point.) Unless Subaru has a
"pre-order" program like Nissan did with the 350Z, then I would
hold onto your money for a while!
Just my two cents.

I agree to somepoint, but w/ a purchase order at a reputable dealer preferably somewhere you have purchased vehicles in the past... i duly believe in establishing a good service/sales relationship w/ a honest dealer... you should be relatively secure.
