Intercooler screen/guard?
I remember someone talking about a screen or guard of some kind for their intercooler that would help prevent bugs and other assorted junk from getting stuck in it. Does anyone have a link to where these are sold? Thanks!

To be effective at stopping bugs, etc., the screen needs to be smaller than the fins on the intercooler, I would think. I then think that this would be restrictive of air flow, hence, power loss. I am not a fan of losing power! I suggest living with the open scoop and cleaning the fins as needed. It is not too hard to straighten some if a foreign object bends them. Hower, the installation pics look great!

are you talking about home window-screen?
If you want to keep gnats and biting flies out from under your hood, then this type of small mesh would be effective. I don't believe that small insects like mosquitos or gnats will damage/affect your intercooler. I often see those flying ants (royals?) crawling around on my intercooler after a drive...
If you look at the air conditioner condenser behind the wide screen on the front of your car, you will notice a much smaller amount of rock-created flat spots and enormous bugs than at the portion on the bottom that isn't protected by said large grate. This is due to statistics, some fair sized baddies do get through, but for the most part (80%?) of the big-enough-to-notice stuff is deflected.
I am going with a screen to sit ontop of my intercooler, the one at the mouth of it looks cool, but I am lazy and don't want to take stuff apart if I don't have to. Also, once the air is inside the scoop, that screen sitting atop the TMIC won't affect the slower airflow.

I don't see a restriction for air flow or power loss due to this screen. It might be a different story if the screen was over the air intake.
I'm not worried about bugs and junk as i do go through the bending routine with a flathead, but the primary concern with cars like these that attract attention is that one of the things potential haters can do is put things into the scoop. The IC itself is screwed either way if they pour a liquid or something in there but for things like coins and things that can end up working their way to a moving part or another, i'd rather have a mesh covering the scoop to deny them access to my engine bay.
