I hear so much complaining, But It does not bother me at all. I love to know what problems there are and how to fix them..
BUT....
I am very happy with my STi and love it that I do not have any problems.
How many people are happy with their Sti?

Hey 'WRX What',
Did you ever locate plugs for your front license plate holes?
If not PM me and I'll talk to my dealer contacts in parts to see about getting you a pair.
Also, did you get an opportunity to talk with your local tint shop owner friend to see about getting a discount for i-Club & NASIOC members?

I'm very happy with the STi! Still, wish the break-in period was shorter. Even limited to 4K RPM's (Ok, 2 times to 5K) it's a lot of fun. Ummm! Fair Lakes and Alexandria... you guys are close to my location, I'm at Burke, Fairfax (at least till the 30th when I move to Virginia Beach). Enjoy your STi's!

Did I tell it or what?
The STi is freakin' awesome...much more fun than an G35 C 6MT in a visceral sense. And the suspension is perfect for the car and its intended mission/usage.
The G is fun & smooth but the STi makes you wanna giggle out loud.

Yeah, I was giggling out loud tonight. Tonight was the first real test drive I did. before was just coming back from the dealership in traffic! I only put on 30KM though. I got home from work around 9:30pm and around 1:00 am I decided to take the car out for a spin because there was little traffic and no road debris flying around in the downtown core. On ramps to the highway are great. what acceleration... you can really hear and feel the turbo come alive. The 6 speed shifter is so tight I sometimes miss the gear I want and over rev. So now I let the clutch out slow if and only if I'm unsure and if I see the RPMs build to much I qiuickly disengage the clutch and find a new gear before I over rev. Did i mention the DCCD was awesome! I am so surprised at how much I love that thing. I want Canadian winter again. Actually, it was really cold here today and has been all month still.

I love my car too! I haven't seen you driving around in GR though Blue-Adept...
With still only 420 miles the break-in period is killing me. I must admit that I have seen over 6000 rpm once or twice already, but I have exercised restraint the other 99% of the time and shift at 4K rpms.
The ride is better than I had expected over our terrible MI roads and the handling is just wonderful... I also seem to get a lot of attention and I have met at least a dozen new people in parking lots since I’ve had the car. Surprisingly, most people seem to know what it is. A few of them even knew who Petter Solberg and Tommi Makinen were.
A very special car indeed....

I don't know about you, fun and smooth is cool. But I want to be so happy that I giggle out loud.

I have pretty much decided on getting a STi. Then in a few years upgrade to a GTR if it ever comes out

Well I have had my STI since late May and I am approaching 2k miles now so I have had ample to chance to use and abuse the car so far. The STI is a beast, it takes every hill and turn I throw at it with a shrug while asking for more.
The weekend of July 5th I plan on entering into a Hillclimb (http://eescc.org/hillclimb.cfm) run in association with the local autocross club, so I will see how I do. I feel like anyone with a car like this is cheating a little because we get to run in stock class even though this car is tuned to an incredible level.
I must say my only complaint so far with the car is the capability to launch off the line. Acceleration in 2nd-6th is smooth and the pull is amazing, I have never personally felt anything like it. However, to get a decent launch in first requires the clutch to be let out fairly slowly, meaning clutch slip, resulting in many new clutches in the years to come. Has anyone else been able to get good clean launches in first without slipping the clutch a little? If you keep your revs high and just pop the clutch, the tach bottoms out as the power is transfered to the DCCD which is precious time and revs that are lost. Other than the clutch issue when launching off the line I think the STI must be one of the best cars to hit the US consumer market, its just a work of art.
Hope everyone else out there is enjoying your STIs as much as I am mine, don't get into too much trouble!! =D
P.S. - This last week I installed my own Kenwood MP3 deck and a pair of Polk/Momo seperates in the front doors and a set of Polk 5&1/4" in the read doors. It took a little fabbing (dremel tool required) to get all the speakers to fit correctly (the stock speakers must be REALLY shallow, there is no space behind the factory hole on the front doors due to the window) but everything sounds great. If you want any information on what I did and maybe some pictures I would be glad to share my experiences with you.

Clutch?

0 RPM = 0 MPH
Since the engine turning over quite a few RPMs at idle, the clutch has to slip...
If you pop the clutch at idle the engine has to bog or stall...
You could rev it to 3500 RPMs and pop the clutch for a racing launch.
I have driven/owned many cars with clutches including my 93 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo with a Centerline dual friction clutch and they ALL required a slipping of the clutch. A clutch is designed to do this for many miles. My 93 Sentra SER had over 140,000 miles on the original cluch and did not require replacing at that point.
I do not have my STi yet so I cannot say that I know exactly what you are saying...(I do have a 2002WRX-TurboXS stage2).

happy..
Yes i love my ****.. It's so quick.. What a big different going from a 91 mazda 626 to a 2004 st-i.. lol.
I raced my buddies grand national a little bit.. Lets just say shifting at 5k rpm and half throttle blew his doors off..
Takin it easy now and doing the slow painful break in.
It's cool to see all the wrx owner drool and give me the thumbs up! It sucks it has been raining for almost a month stright here in upstate new york with an occasional nice day or a break in the rain. I was planning on never driving it in the rain, but since thats all it does, i have no choice. I feel like i'm in viet nam during the monsoon season.
