Here is the latest on the STI
Hi everyone,
I thought that you would all like to know the latest news on the STI. We just met with Subaru Reps today and this is what was relayed. The STI will be availble in 4 colors. WR-Blue, Silver, White and Black. The MSRP will be between $34K and $38K depending on how you order it. I can not say this for all dealerships, but I know that we can order right away. Options will be pretty limited on this car. First delivery dates will be early June. Hope this helps.
Erik

34k?? maybe with TT&L.
wow...i hope thats with the mark up or tax. I personally am hoping for 30k msrp. I think the subaru has to keep it competitive with the lancer. I know that many of us feel that the sti is much better than the lancer which it may be, but bottom line is both perform ROUGHLY in the same arena. And if Mitsu can do it around 29k. I think subaru should be able to keep it around that same price.

No that is what MSRP is going to be. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for some of you. This car is not going to be for the week of heart or pocketbook. As to the wheels I am not sure yet if you will have any other options, I do know that they are almost 4K worth of wheels. Still I can't wait to drive one.

If that is the case, then I might do something else. 34k MSRP is WAY TOO MUCH. But then again, the wheels (4 17" BBS alloys) might be worth ~4k. Why didn't they offer Volk Rims like they did with the STi V6 as an option? They'd be expensive but not
as expensive as the BBSs.
If the car had cheap knockoffs for 1k that looked awful, I'd probably believe that most people would swap their rims for better ones anyways.

Friend of mine is a sales mager of a dealership in CT and he is saying 32kmsrp +tax tittle and reg. I've also heard that from a sales rep at another dealership. and all they are asking for is a 500 refundablre deposit msrp guaranteed in writing. thats right refundable because they know the car will sell weather you back out or not.
the guy who started this thread is the same guy who was saying he would put you on the list for a grand (non-refundable) and sell for 2500 over msrp.
Go back under your bridge troll, and good luck selling your cars.

$34-38k does sound a little out to lunch...the whole analysis is hosed. why would they price themselves out of the market like that? the evolution, rx-8, 350-z, and g35 all come in at or below 30k (base). i admit that the car has some nice (ok, really nice) performance features, but there's no need for them to go $10-14k over the standard WRX. most high-performance lines (like the svt cobra) go for about $5k over the standard, which would put the STi around $29-30k (possibly more depending how many "options" are standard, which, from what i've gleaned in this forum, should be about all of them.) in the UK, the STi version debuted at a $6566 premium over the standard...nowhere near $34-38k.

The colors sound good but it sounds like someone is price gouging again. 34-38k ecjhawk is the bearer of bad news but in this case i think bad=wrong. BTW hows the waiting list going.
