The wheels are probably not "painted". A better term would be "finished" in gold or silver. They are probably powerder coated or finished in a similar method. I would not recommend buying paint and painting your wheels. That sounds way too much like turning the STi into RICE...don't mess with em!!

I don't see why you couldn't find a good body shop somewhere that could take care of your needs, though. I looked into haveing the wheels on the RS powdercoated at one point, and I've considered getting them painted. But I wouldn't do it myself.

Hmmmm, I guess you can call them painted. But I still say the wheels have a durable finish to keep them from peeling or whatever. I'm keeping mine how they come from the factory, seems like a lot of work just to change the wheel color.
